Why Do You Need To Break Your Cocoon?

Cocoon is the silky covering that encloses and protects caterpillars before they develop into adults. If you are living in a cocoon, you are in an environment where you feel protected and safe though isolated from the beautiful world outside.

Who doesn’t want to feel protected and safe? It’s natural that you want to feel protected and safe, comfortable and warm. There’s nothing wrong with you being in a cocoon. It’s the cocoon where you mature to assume your new role as a butterfly. However, to become a butterfly you have to break out of your cocoon. Ask yourself what would you like to be - a caterpillar inside a cocoon or a butterfly flying free under the sky?

What is your dream and what do you wish to achieve? Does it appear hard and impossible to succeed in your dream? Well, let me tell you that every dream is achievable. Just say yes. Use any fear as motivation. That fear will then turn into confidence.

You have to find out who you are, and be that. You have to decide what comes first, and do that. You have to discover your strengths, and use them. You have to learn not to compete with others, Because no one else is in the contest of *being you*.


You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness. You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions. You will have learned to live with your limitations. You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due. And you’ll be a most vital mortal.

What would you want to know about me?

My Story

I am someone who has enjoyed the warmth and comfort of my cocoon for a long time. I was overprotecting myself from failure and criticism because I didn’t believe in myself. I didn’t know who I was, and I defined myself based on what I was told. I was called naive, stupid, clumsy, goofy, and different. “I’m not good enough” was my core thought. It blocked my dreams and hindered my actions for years. I had many fears and insecurities that I didn’t have the guts to confront.

Things started to shift for me when I noticed two brightly colorful butterflies flying in my space. They were so attractive that I couldn’t deny their charm. They were flying freely and confidently. They fully embraced who they were, which allowed their uniqueness to shine through.

Deep down, I knew that I wasn’t satisfied with who I was; the cocoon became suffocating that I couldn’t stand anymore. So, the first step I took was changing my core thought and the fake labels.

With the new mindset, I was able to shake the tranquility of my cocoon and crack it. I have been learning to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. It is challenging, but it’s gratifying as it brings a tremendous feeling of confidence and power.

I will never forget the pleasant feelings of confidence and power that I experienced when I delivered a presentation at one of the universities in the UAE. Public speaking is nerve-racking; it is one of my biggest fears; however, I decided to do it on that day.

All I did to overcome my fear was connect with my inner power of self-belief. OMG, this connection made me feel like a queen walking toward her throne to speak to her people. I felt so confident and powerful that I pictured myself wearing a crown.

After that experience and a few more similar experiences, I decided to break my cocoon and connect to my inner power of self-belief to constantly feel confident, powerful, and free. This is where I start living life on my own terms and have a clear purpose which is: “To help women build unshakable self-belief and connect to it so that they can live life on their own terms.”
